2017 National Philanthropy Day Awards Call for Nominations
Nominations are now OPEN for National Philanthropy Day 2017!
Each day hundreds of individuals, companies and organizations in our community help change the world with a giving heart. From donors to volunteers, from large, international nonprofits to the Community Foundations, each has made an indelible contribution to our communities, our nation, and our world.
Recognize those who have made a difference in your community by submitting a nomination for a National Philanthropy Day Award. Categories include:
- Outstanding Lifetime Philanthropy Award
- Outstanding Philanthropist Award
- Outstanding Fundraising Volunteer Award
- Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation Award
- Youth in Philanthropy Award
- Outstanding Fundraising Professional Award
Nominations are due via email to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Friday, July 14, 2017 by 4:30 PM (CST). Late submissions will not be accepted.
Nominating organizations will be notified of the award recipients by September 1st.
Please check back for event registration. A formal save the date and invitation will be sent electronically.

National Philanthropy Day Award Descriptions
Outstanding Lifetime Philanthropy Award – presented to an individual or family, either in honor or memory, who are recognized widely as community philanthropists and have a long and proven record of making a significant impact in their community through financial support and volunteerism/leadership for a variety of organizations.
Outstanding Philanthropist Award – presented to an individual or family who have demonstrated exceptional generosity through direct financial support, outstanding civic and charitable responsibility, and whose generosity encourages others to take philanthropic leadership roles on a local, national and/or international level.
Outstanding Fundraising Volunteer Award – presented to an individual or couple who has demonstrated exceptional leadership skill in coordinating and motivating groups of volunteers for major fundraising projects and is recognized for sharing their time and talents with area nonprofit organizations.
Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation Award – presented to a corporation or its corporate foundation that has demonstrated outstanding commitment through financial support and through encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles toward philanthropy and community involvement.
Youth in Philanthropy Award – presented to an individual or group of young people (college students or younger) who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the community through direct financial support, charitable programs, volunteerism and/or leadership in philanthropy.
Outstanding Fundraising Professional – presented to an individual fundraising professional who practices his/her profession in an exemplary manner. The recipient must have at least five years of professional fundraising experience, evidence of quality of leadership and being a team player, a commitment to continuing professional development, and commitment to fundraising and philanthropy through volunteer service and financial support of non-profit organizations.
